The Easy Way To Instantly Find Out Who Owns Any Phone Number
Sunday, November 9th, 2008We’re here today to teach you about a way to find out information about almost anyone, with only a phone number to start from! With only this one piece of information to work from, you can find name, address and even more. Amazing, yes? It’s easier than you may think.
As you probably already know, unlisted and cell phone numbers are not in any phonebook. This means they aren’t in any “public domain” so information on these types of phones is not easy to get a hold of.
There are firms who are in the business of compiling lists of every phone number. Out of these lists, directories are built which hold every phone number that they can find. These companies pay for access to this information, which can then be searched to find out information on the owners of certain numbers.
These directories are called “reverse phone directories” and are searchable through your web browser. Searches are performed by looking up a number rather than a name (thus the “reverse” part). Just enter the number and hit search, the built in search engine will take things from there. The results will be displayed if any information is available about the owner of the number.
At the bottom of this article, you’ll find a link to perform a search for free to see for yourself how this all works.
These services are not free, but they are not terribly expensive; and if they can get you the information you’re seeking, they are arguably well worth the cost. Many of these directories just charge a one time fee for access to their directory - which is the way to go if you will need to perform searches fairly often. This way you can avoid having to pay each time you want to investigate a number using the directory.
There are a lot of different applications for these searches. For example, if you are receiving prank calls from a number repeatedly, this is a good way to investigate. Suspicious spouses also use these searches to see who has been calling. Really though, any time you need to check someone out armed only with their phone number.
Before you do use a paid service, you can try out a quick way to see if you can find the same information without paying a dime. It will sometimes work, so even though a paid search isn’t expensive, you may as well give it a shot to see what you get.
All you have to do is go to Google and punch in the phone number into the search box. You will want to use the following format: “555-555-5555″ and make sure you use the quotation marks. Hit the search button and then take a look at the search results that appear.
If the number you’re looking for is online anywhere, Google will most likely pull it up for you. Whether on personal websites or in online ads, phone numbers do turn up on the web sometimes. Perhaps even the number you’re looking for.
If you get a “hit” from Google, have a look at the webpage and see what information you can find out. If you don’t, you know you can always use the regular paid service.
I’m always impressed with how much information you can find out about someone when all you have is their phone number. By using a reverse phone directory you get to feel like a detective right from your own home!
